David R. Shannon grew up in the Brushy community of Centerville, TN. His father Roy is an Elder at the Brushy congregation and his mother is a teacher and speaker for ladies days and lectureships. He began preaching at the age of 14 for small congregations in the surrounding area. While at Freed-Hardeman University studying business and Bible he met his wife Tracie. Their children are Colton (Rachael), Lacie (Clint) Haynes, Emilie and Rong. They have one grandchild Maxwell Shannon. David and Tracie have worked in Riverhead, NY, Gadsden, AL and Mt Juliet, TN. He has served as the preacher of the Mt Juliet congregation for the past 16 years. David also serves on the board of Heritage University in Florence, AL, does mission work in El Salvador, conducts weekly one on one Bible studies and speaks at events across the country. The Shannons love the laughter around a large supper table, late nights with the kids and their friends and occasionally snow skiing together. “Being a part of the MJ congregation is one of the greatest blessings we have ever received from God,” says Shannon.
